She said that an opossum was staring back at her. I jumped into my work clothes and texted back an arrival time once on the way. It would take me about 25 minutes to drive there from Bristol. A good opossum trapper never sleeps well in busy season.
Then after a second or two, I realized what I had on my hands. It was my first litter of baby raccoons of the year and they were behind a steel fireplace insert in his den that weighed a ton.
